It unfolds its historical signifance and complex trajectory over the past decades, if not a century;it lays out a mapping of cultural and technical diffrences. By providing an updated, well-rounded documentation-yet presenting it an upbeat manner to match the current narrative trend, we also hope that it will instill an appreciation for the beauty and uniqueness of Indonesia’s textile traditions in the country’s younger generations, so that they will be supportive of their continued existence.
