Taksu In and Beyond the Art
I Wayan Dibia, professor of the Indonesian Institute of Arts (ISI) in Denpasar, sees an interesting development in Balinese classical arts. Dibia, a dancer who infuses modern elements into classical works, sees himself as an innovator. Last year, he received the Widya Pataka Award from the Bali Library and Archives Council on his attempts to promote and preserve Balinese arts. Two weeks ago, Tempocorrespondent Rofiqi Hasan interviewed the 65-year old Wayan Dibia at the Art Cultural Center in Denpasar
